The HYPNOS method

What is self-hypnosis ?

It is practiced alone, without a hypnotherapist. Self-hypnosis has many advantages, allowing you to bring your mind and body in harmony and meet your needs immediately, without waiting for an appointment with a practitioner. You are the one who immerses yourself in a hypnotic state.

If you're just discovering the concept, you might be surprised to learn that you may have already unknowingly experienced a similar form of self-hypnosis at least once in your life. The reason is simple: self-hypnosis, like traditional hypnosis, is primarily based on a mental state, more specifically an Altered State of Consciousness (ASC).

While some people may be more receptive to hypnosis than others, the most important factor is a person's willingness to let themselves be carried away. Being hypnotizable relies in large part on the value placed on one's imaginary world.

Films, music, or books in which you become completely absorbed are all experiences that plunge you into a state similar to hypnosis, a self-hypnosis of sorts. It's important to note that some people may require more time to surrender sufficiently to access a state that allows you to take full advantage of this approach.

Hypnosis, sophrology, meditation ?

Sophrology emerged in the 1960s in its modern form, while Ericksonian hypnosis, from which Hypnos sessions are developed, has its roots in the early 20th century.

Sophrology and relaxation techniques rely on tools such as breathing, muscle relaxation, and visualizing positive images. In contrast, hypnosis works by altering the state of consciousness.

Following the philosophy of Milton H. Erickson, Ericksonian hypnosis explores a variety of methods to achieve a specific goal. So some Hypnos sessions borrow certain techniques and features from sophrology that we find useful.

However, it's important to note that most of Hypnos' content focuses on hypnosis sessions.
